Abstract
The autor recognises two basic types of orientation in the
aknowledgement of the body: the first one makes the person aware
of its precarious and ridiculous self, and produces a desire to stop
being «a body», the second- pertinent to most of the societies –chooses
the expansion, the opening of the body to other bodies and places,
in order to experiment unexpected events. He examines the
representations of the body of the different Indian groups of America,
with special attention towards the «tzotiles» and the “tzeltales”
